Welcome to the School District of Bloomer!

Welcome to our district where our mission is to challenge and inspire all students.  As a Bloomer Blackhawk, you will find a culture of excellence that ensures opportunities for all. The district’s strength and success are rooted deeply in the dedication of our school staff, our students' performance, participation, and the unwavering support of our families and community.

The Bloomer Board of Education is proud of the quality curriculum offerings, exceptional staff, and strong athletic teams supported by the community. The District focuses on character development and academics to prepare youth through service to others for the betterment of society. Students set and articulate their learning goals throughout the year. Every child is encouraged to participate fully in the offerings provided.

Along with being known as the Roop Jump capital of the world, our district is supported by a vibrant business community and other great organizations such as the Blackhawk Foundation.  The school district serves rural, residential, and farm communities across the Chippewa and Dunn County area.  The district serves approximately 1,215 students from Preschool to 12th grade and employs approximately 200 highly qualified staff members. The three schools in the district are Bloomer Elementary School ( 4k through 4th grade), Bloomer Middle School (5th through 8th grade), and Bloomer High School (9th through 12th grade).

A Little Bit About Our Schools

Bloomer Elementary School was constructed in 2012 and is located centrally in the city north of Hwy 40 near the business district. With over 92,000 sq.ft. of secure and high-quality learning spaces, the site is one where students can learn and grow from preschool to 4th grade. The elementary school maintains small class sizes of fewer than 18 in each K-3 classroom and offers a 4-year-old kindergarten program, Early Childhood services, and summer school programming. Outstanding activities at the elementary include Mini-Hawk Singers, an after-school art program, peer mediation, a mentor program, a student council, and library assistants. The school maintains an outdoor learning classroom and nature trail on the property. Our active and extremely supportive parent group, Partners in Education (PIE), raises thousands of dollars annually with support from our families and community through activities like the Annual Mini Hawk Hustle. PIE provides extended learning opportunities through field trips and is open to any interested parent.

Bloomer Middle School is located adjacent to the elementary school and was constructed in 2002, with an addition completed in 2017. As a 2008 Wisconsin Exemplary Middle School recipient, our students and staff are part of a long tradition of meeting and exceeding state achievement standards. Students have numerous opportunities to participate in extracurricular offerings including band, choir, art club, yearbook, student council, peer mediation, broadcasting, forensics, Destination Imagination, and multiple interscholastic sports. Bloomer Middle School is a safe and caring place for middle school youth to develop into young scholars. The district football and track complex can be found just behind the Bloomer Middle School.

Bloomer High School is centrally located south of Hwy 40 and east of 53 close to the downtown Bloomer Business area. The high school has been recognized at the local and state levels for high-quality character education programming and extensive Career and Technical Education programming. Class sizes are small with rigorous course offerings provided for the students. Curricular offerings include advanced placement courses, distance learning, online courses, outstanding vocational offerings, and individualized options for qualifying students. Each year our district is well above the state average regarding the number of students participating in dual enrollment courses, earning industry-recognized credentials, and participating in work-based learning programs.

The Bloomer Blackhawks have competitive athletic teams, as well as a nationally recognized FFA program, choir, band, student council, National Honor Society, art club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FBLA, FCCLA, SADD, HERO, ski club, drama club, and Iron Hawks. These programs are offered to any student in good academic standing.  Bloomer High School also partners with Chippewa Valley Technical College and the area Universities for additional course offerings and expanded learning opportunities.

Unwavering Support of Our Families and Community

This support transcends the generous financial contributions and manifests in the selfless volunteerism and involvement, the pervasive positive attitude and the exemplary role modeling our families and community members offer. Bloomer has a unique spirit of collaboration and commitment to our schools, and this support fuels our ability to provide unparalleled educational experiences for our students.

In partnership with the community and its students, the School District of Bloomer is committed to excellence by challenging and empowering all students to achieve their potential as lifelong learners in an ever-changing global society.
