25 bags of Lettuce going to the Food Pantry!
Mrs. Haas' Intro to Horticulture course is partnered with Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) through a transcripted credit relationship, which allows students to earn college credit for their work in the course. This partnership helps students gain both foundational horticultural knowledge and hands-on experience, while also getting a head start on their college education.
The course focuses on practical skills related to plant growth and care, including techniques such as hydroponics, which students use to grow food for the local food pantry each month. This aspect of the course not only helps students develop their technical abilities but also highlights the value of local food production. Growing food in your community is a powerful way to address food insecurity, promote sustainability, and encourage people to connect with the source of their food. It’s a meaningful way to engage students in community service, while also teaching them about the environmental, economic, and social benefits of producing food locally.

Mrs. Berndt’s third graders learned about how to keep our bones and bodies strong and healthy thanks to a special visit from Mrs. Berndt’s mom, a nurse practitioner.
We had so much fun exploring models of different bones and trying on splints and braces used to heal bones. 🦴🧡 #bloomerhawks
How do you find the best book for you? A book tasting!! 7th-grade students recently enjoyed book sampling (with a few real snacks) to help them select a book for their next unit.
