Bloomer School District Families:

Below is important information regarding School District of Bloomer fall reopening plans and Goal Setting/Welcome Back Day.

Fall Reopening:  On Monday, August 3, 2020, the School District of Bloomer School Board voted to reopen schools for face to face instruction five days a week.  This plan will remain in place unless the District is ordered to close due to a Chippewa County Department of Health or State of Wisconsin ruling.  When open for face to face instruction the School District of Bloomer will follow all Federal, State and local mandates as well as the enhanced health and safety protocols outlined in the Return to School Plan found at https://www.bloomer.k12.wi.us/article/273604

As we reopen, we understand that some families may not be able to send their students back to school due to health concerns or may not feel comfortable doing so.  For these families we will provide a virtual instruction option.  Students will be assigned to virtual classes which will be overseen by designated School District of Bloomer staff members who will communicate with students, answer questions, assess student work and coordinate the implementation of virtual instruction with families.  More information regarding this option will be sent to families soon.

Goal Setting/Welcome Back Day:  Goal Setting/Welcome Back Day is scheduled for September 1st, 2020.  Families will be receiving instructions for signing up for Goal Setting Conferences in the mail later this week.  For the safety your family and our staff we will be scaling back Goal Setting/Welcome Back Day this year.  On Goal Setting/Welcome Back Day you will have a conference with your student’s homeroom/advisee teacher, have pictures taken, complete necessary paperwork and pay fees, representatives from the bus company will also be available.  All other booths and activities will not be offered this year.

When registering for Goal Setting Conferences it is important to note that you will only be scheduling a conference with your student’s homeroom or advisee teacher.  At the Elementary and Middle School please follow the instructions for scheduling a conference and sign up with your student’s homeroom teacher.  At the high school please follow the instructions for scheduling a conference and sign up with your student’s advisee teacher.   Conferences should not be scheduled with any teacher other than your student’s homeroom/advisee teacher.

Once again thank you for your ongoing support during these difficult times.  We look forward to seeing you and your students as we reopen for school in the fall.

Best wishes,

Brian Misfeldt
