Dr. Joshua Isaacson has been approved by the school board to be the next District Administrator of the School District of Bloomer, beginning July 1st.
Dr. Isaacson is an experienced superintendent who has been a teacher and principal. There will be a meet and greet for the public later in the spring. Welcome Dr. Isaacson!

The Lifetime Winter Fitness has had a tough year this year with no snow for doing all their fun activities but they were still able to take a field trip to Hobbs Ice Arena to do a little ice skating and to the Eau Claire Curling Club to learn how to curl.
The students got a chance to learn all the different positions in curling and also how to sweep and throw the stone. It was a fun experience and they learned so much about curling.

Ms. Anderson met author Angeline Boulley at a presentation for Black River Falls' community read of her novel, Fire Keeper's Daughter.
The novel is an "indigenous Nancy Drew" mystery thriller about a brave young Ojibwe woman who works undercover in a federal investigation in her tribal community, risking everything to protect her community from a drug operation.
Boulley talked about how the novel's life began for her in her senior year of high school and stuck with her over more than 20 years of experiences before she began to write it in 2009. Ten years later, she had completed a draft she was ready to pitch. Her manuscript sparked a bidding war among TWELVE publishers, and she became the first indigenous author to receive and accept a 7-figure offer for her book.
It debuted at #1 on the New York Times best-seller list and was an immediate sensation. She has since written a second novel, Warrior Girl Unearthed; a third book will be making its way to print after 2024, and a fourth novel will follow. Fire Keeper's Daughter is taught in junior English at BHS.
Ms. Gilane’s 5th grade Health classes wrapped up their semester by exploring in the kitchen.
They put their cooking skills to the test and even learned how to take care of the dishes. 🍕🥪

The BMS 8th grade girls basketball team took in an UW-Eau Claire women's game vs. UW-Platteville.
Afterward, they got to meet some of the UWEC players and a player from UW-Platteville that was one of Coach Smikrud's former students.
