Happy Monday - spread kindness like confetti!

While learning about the many competitions available in the National FFA Organization, students in Plants, Animals and Pizza had the opportunity to try their hand at tasting cheese, identifying livestock breeds and vet tools, evaluating cuts of meat, and floral design.
Mrs. Haas' Career Based Learning class learned how to make centerpiece designs and the importance of service projects!
By putting these two concepts together, each student was able to make their own winter/holiday themed centerpiece and choose a school district staff member to receive their hard work. Great job workers!

Ms. Bornhofer's Hawk Time group is trying to answer the question of Who Should Decide What We Eat? - the school, our parents, or ourselves.
We did an experiment to bring awareness to the nutritiousness of chips that the kids would choose for themselves at a gas station pit stop. Then we discussed if we should eliminate potatoes/chips from our diet that are made with fats, lessen the amount of those snacks that we eat, or if companies should produce those snacks using healthier options?
I can't wait to see the students' final decisions on who should decide what they eat in our upcoming opinion essays!
